Clement Roger Johnson, 80, passed away on April 5th, 2023 at home surrounded by family. Clement was born on August 5th, 1942 to his parents Edgar and Goldie (Steelman) Johnson in Des Moines, Iowa.
He cherished 63 years with his wife Carolyn (Bates) Johnson. Clement worked at Massey Ferguson most of his adult life where he was in maintenance. He loved fishing and anyone that knew him knew if you couldn’t find him to go look by the river, and he would always be down there with his pole. And if he wasn’t there, he could be found at one of his five children’s ball games or out in his garage making homemade sinkers. He loved playing his guitar and making up songs about anything anybody would be talking about but if you were a Johnson, you knew froggy went a courtin my heart lol. He had a good sense of humor as well. His son-in-law Michael knew that they were fishing one day and fell asleep on the bank, Clement left a package of liver sitting in the sun and it baked Mike’s head, so after that he was called liver head.
He was one of a kind and will be missed dearly by all of his family and friends, we will hope to join him someday in Heaven.
Clement is survived by his wife Carolyn, they had five children; Barbara, Roger, Eddie, Randy and Ricky and had numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He also has two surviving sisters, Sharon K. Walker and Wanda Jean Jones. He is preceded in death by his brothers Robert Lee Johnson, Denver Ray Johnson, and Michael, David Johnson; as well as his mother and father Edgar Lee Johnson and Goldie Pauline Johnson.
On Tuesday, April 11th there will be a funeral service at 12:30pm with a time of viewing an hour prior at 11:30am at Sunset Memorial Chapel.
