Davy Davison, 82, passed away on September 1, 2022. A visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel on Friday, September 9, from 5 to 7PM. A funeral service will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel on Saturday, September 10 at 11AM. Burial will take place after the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A luncheon will be available after the burial.
Davy was born on February 1, 1940, to Jim and Norabelle (McDaniel) Davison in Des Moines, Iowa. Davy entered the Army after graduating high school and was stationed in Alabama fixing helicopters. After getting released from the Army, Davy worked at the Des Moines Register for 45 years, starting his career as a pressman. In his free time, he built and showed classic cars with his son, David and trail road horses with his daughter, Melody. Once retired, he kept busy driving vans for the City of Des Moines Airport, working on the company jets for The Townsend Engineering Flight Center in Des Moines, volunteering for the local church, and driving construction equipment for his friend’s business. Davy will be remembered for being a handyman, fisherman, always wanting to stay busy, and his love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Davy is preceded in death by his parents.
Davy is survived by his wife, Martha Davison; children, David (Janice) Davison and Melody (Tim) Cain; grandchildren, Whitney (Cody) and Chalice; great-grandchildren, Eanna, Jameson, and Nolan, and Roman and Atticus; and many friends.
