Dean Arley Holman, 82, passed away at home on Sunday October 29, 2023.
A celebration of Dean’s life will be held on Monday November 6 at 2pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines.
Dean was born in Des Moines to Bernice (Brinton) and Paul Holman. He attended Des Moines Technical High School and Drake University and served in the US Navy. He worked as an estimator and manager at Meredith/Burda, later R.R. Donnelley, for 39 years. He was a member of the Shriner’s Trike Patrol and relished participating in parades and fundraising for the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
Dean loved his family and is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary, and his daughters Stacy Holman Jones (Daniel Harris) and Jodi Everette (Mark), grandchildren Sydnie Roenker (Mason), Haddie Holman Jones and Tobias Everette, siblings Joanne Wash and Jolene Lee, along with nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. He was looking forward to becoming a great-grandfather in the coming months. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Za-Ga-Zig Shrine Trike Patrol in remembrance of Dean. The family would like to thank the staff at Suncrest Hospice for their attentive care.
