Donald Harry Hartman, born on February 27, 1933, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Gerald and Dorothy Hartman, passed away peacefully at Altoona Nursing Home on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
A United States Army veteran of the Korean War, Donald resided in Des Moines, working as a welder and forklift operator. He was an avid supporter of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs, and enjoyed bird watching.
He is survived by his sons, Donald (Diana) Hartman and Michael (Darci) Hartman; his sister, Geri Ann McCuen; grandchildren, Bobbie Jo (Jason) Pogue and Stephanie (Rodney) Stockbauer; and four great-grandchildren: Jordan, Katelyn, Kaden, and Addison. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Donald was preceded in death by his life partner, Joyce Hamilton, and his parents, Gerald and Dorothy Hartman.
Grave side service will be held at 2pm Friday January 31, 2025 Sunset Memorial Chapel 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines, IA 50321
