Etta Veach was born to Thomas and Matilda McFall on September 17, 1931, in Ballymena, Northern Ireland.
Etta passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Calvin Community in Des Moines, Iowa.
Etta met and married William E Veach (1929-2014) in Ballymena, Northern Ireland in May 1955. He brought her to the U.S. after finishing his tour with the U.S. Airforce. They had 2 children, William T (Billy) and Patricia (1960-1969). Patricia Ann Veach was the victim of a homicide which remains unsolved.
Etta worked as a cashier and bookkeeper at East Side Fish Market. Etta later retired after 25 years as a cashier at Dahls in Clive. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her grace, strength and beautiful smile will be remembered by all.
Etta is survived by her son William (Billy) and his wife, Heidi. Grandsons: Clayton (Sarah), Jordan (Natalie) and 5 great granddaughters.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Patricia Ann Veach and Bernard Grandanette, her loving companion of 27 years.
Graveside service is Friday, November 8th @ 10AM at Sunset Memorial Garden, 7601 Fleur Dr., Des Moines, IA 50321. Chaplain Jason Pool officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following in the Sunset Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvin Community, Des Moines: www.CalvinCommunity.org
