Georgia Felder, age 88, passed away peacefully at her home of 41 years in rural Prairie City on Saturday September 24, 2023. Georgia was born on January 21st, 1935 in Clio, Iowa, the daughter of George Glen Bates and Mary Alice Dorsey.
Georgia came to the Prairie City area in 1958. She was united in marriage to Ronald L. Felder in 1976. She served for many years at in home care and as a CNA at Clearview Manner Nursing Home in Prairie City, where she retired.
Georgia loved traveling, her pets, flowers, cards, puzzles, board games and was an avid bowler. She was a member of Rebecca’s for several years. She mostly treasured her many friends. Georgia was an active member of the Grace Alive Church in Prairie City where she was baptized in 2019.
Georgia is survived by her daughter Glenda Turner and son Dub (Pam) St.John both of Prairie City, sister-in-law Jan Bates of Illinois, grandchildren Tonya (Brian) Pierce, Brandon (Haley) St.John, Christina (Donny) Kuecker, Matt (Betsy) Kuecker and Andy (Whitney) Kuecker, Michelle (Kevin) Feuring, Rachelle (Jim) Martin, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved cats, Samantha and Sabrina.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1999, brother Clifford R. Bates in 2021 and son-in-law Darrell Turner in 2014.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday October 2nd from 5-7pm at Grace Alive Church in Prairie City, IA. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Alive Church.
